This course incorporates participatory learning and covers the planning and design of a schools Permaculture, the necessary organic methodology to bring the plans to fruition; it also equips teachers with resource management skills and how to link the whole process to classroom practice. The training includes an excursion to a model school and an on-site practical implementation. The course empowers 30 teachers from 10-15 schools to initiate a Permaculture project at their own schools and link this to classroom practice.
To date SEED has facilitated:
- Eight Courses in the Cape Flats and graduated 184 teachers from 84 Cape Flats schools.
- Three Courses in Gauteng and worked with 92 teachers. Graduated 25 teachers from the Limpopo.
- One Course in Limpopo working with 25 teachers.
- One Course in Kwa Zulu Natal with 30 teachers.
- One Course in the Free State with 45 teachers.
