If you are thinking ten years ahead, plant a tree." ~ Chinese poet, 500 BC About the Programme This program sees a targeted Cape Flats community planting 2500 multi-purpose trees at the start of the rainy season. The program equips local community foresters to teach community members about trees and support the planting and monitoring of the trees. This year we will be planting in Ward 81, Mitchells Plain. The species we are looking at are: - Celtis Africana - good deciduous backyard tree
- Wit karee - hardy indigenous evergreen
- Carob - beautiful productive tree
- Pomegranite
- Olive
